Stations of the Cross
St-Félix-de-Valois Church in Cornwall, ON
The Crucifixion and Women of Jerusalem. These are two of the fourteen windows representing the Stations of the Cross in St-Félix-de-Valois Church in Cornwall, ON. Since the subject matter for the fourteen windows is primarily for personal devotion, the artistic challenge was to create windows which also provided an appropriate atmosphere for liturgical celebrations. The solution is a design which emphasizes abstract blocks of colour, but which on closer inspection reveals the story line of the Way of the Cross.
