Mace

This mace for Nipissing University, North Bay, Ontario, was designed by architect Jean Larocque and fabricated by the Gilles Beaugrand artisans. The "medicine wheel" component was provided by Ojibwa craftspeople. It is fashioned of gold, silver and bronze, sculpted oak and polished granite, and has glass, enamel, bead and feather ornamentation.
